Right Now

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*obsessing over *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The Pop Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Floating Rose that came in my Birchbox last month. It is the perfect wear every day glossy color. What can I say? I'm obsessed.

Forgive my chipping polish. That's on my list on to do's for this evening.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*working on *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Eating less carbs and more protein. Why is it so difficult? Ugh. The thought of cooking raw meat reaallllly grosses me out which doesn't help my cause. I think maybe I was a vegetarian in another life. Poooooor little cows and chickens. Although, it doesn't stop me from eating it when someone else prepares it so maybe not.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thinking about*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

An oh-so-glorious three day work week in the near future. Bring on Turkey Day and Black Friday! Although I must admit I despise Black Friday shopping. There are just way too many people, and not enough good deals if you ask me! It majorly stresses me out.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*excited for *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

This weekend! There are so many fun things on the agenda Saturday and Sunday. C is back in town. We're going to the K-State/OU game on Saturday morning (me to watch my baby sis dance and him to write), and then Saturday night it's back to KC for the Tindah's first annual Friendsgiving celebration. Annnnnd the fun doesn't stop there with another Thanksgiving celebration closing out the weekend on Sunday. I. Can't. Wait.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*can't live without*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Donuts...and after I just got done telling you guys I was eating less carbs. Is it sad the reason I'm most excited to go to Manhattan on Saturday morning is not to attend the football game, but because I finally get to experience Varsity Donuts. Yup leave it to this fat kid to be more excited about eating than attending a sporting event. But I mean really, how cute are these donuts?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*on repeat*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Ends of the Earth by Lord Huron. You may have heard this song on a Zale's commercial recently. I saw them in concert earlier this summer, and they were pretty great...not to mention one of their guitar players is real cute. Go see them if you have the opportunity!

Stacy's Limited Edition GINGERBREAD pita chips. I've been dreaming about these guys since I first tasted them last year, and guess what? They're back! Thank goodness. You all seriously need to go get a bag of these. Right now. What are you waiting for?!

                           *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thankful for*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My family, my friends, my job, life in general. I think that about sums it up! :)

Right Now

I took a brief hiatus from the Blogtember challenge last week to bring you your regularly scheduled programming, but I'm back at it today. The topic today is a "life lately post - what you're up to, how you're feeling, how you're doing on your goals, etc. I've got no complaints! Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, I'm loving life these days. Instead of boring you with a monotonous recap of what I did this weekend or my plans for the upcoming week, I'm going to do a Right Now post since it's literally been months.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*obsessing over *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Sprinkle donuts. Someone seriously needs to cut me off. I couldn't stop myself this weekend. They're just so pretty and delicious, but you know what won't be pretty and delicious? My derrière if I keep this up. Must. Stop. Eating. Donuts.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*working on *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Not eating donuts? Hah! No, but really... I've also been decorating my house for Fall. I realized yesterday I have a lot more Halloween decorations than generic Fall decorations so I guess a wreath and some pumpkins will have to do for now. While I refuse to put up Halloween decorations until the first day of October, I have absolutely no problem decorating for Christmas absurdly early. I'm talking at least a week before Thanksgiving. Houses just look so much happier with twinkle lights and trees.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thinking about*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

What I'm going to eat for dinner tonight obviously. When am I not thinking about food? Correct answer: never! Some of my friends and I originally made plans to have sushi tonight, but sounds like Blue Koi might be on the agenda instead. Their Chinese Style Pot Roast is beyond amazing. Is it dinnertime yet?!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*excited for *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My upcoming trip with C. This long distance thing isn't quite so bad when I get to take a fun trip every other weekend. This weekend we're headed to Georgia for the UGA/LSU game in Athens and more importantly, a stop at the Georgia Aquarium. I. Can't. Wait.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*can't live without*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo. This stuff is life changing. There's no way I could be at work on time Monday mornings if I actually had to wash my hair. Yup. Every Monday I have dirty hair except this stuff does a fantastic job of masking it. Now you know my dirty little secret.

Chipotle veggie bowls. I had it for dinner not once, not twice, but three times last week. I have a problem.

My parents - who gave up their Sunday afternoon to come help me around the house yesterday. What would I do without them? I wouldn't have a working toilet downstairs, and my yard would look absolutely horrendous. They're the greatest.

Right Now

I was hoping the Blog Every Day in May Challenge would make me better at posting more frequently. Turns out now that I don't have prompts each day I've been struggling to come up with topics...that and I've just been way too busy. Between First Fridays, a wedding, a baby shower, and having friends in town I don't think I had a spare minute this weekend. I wish I could rewind to Friday, and do it all over again!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*obsessing over *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

These new lip stains from Victoria's Secret. I have two different colors (Forever Yours and Endless Pink). Both are pretty fantastic. At $9 each or 2 for $15 they really are a steal. A little bit goes a long way, and the color lasts for hours. I haven't kiss tested it yet, but I'll try to get on that and report back. ;)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*working on *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Healthy eating. Whhhhhhhhhhhy is it so hard? I feel like I have to choose between having a social life or being skinny. Decisions decisions.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thinking about*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

How much fun this past weekend was. Seriously. I have THE best friends ever...like ever. My stomach is legitimately sore from laughing so much. If only we weren't spread out all over the country. Luckily lots of these pretty ladies have found their better halves and tied the knot this year so we've had plenty of reasons to get together and celebrate. Now if only my Prince Charming would surface. Are you out there?! Anywhere?? No? Good thing I'm pretty darn content with my cat and roommates ;)

Wish I had some better pictures to share. Stupid iPhone camera.
Love these girls to the moon and back.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*excited for *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Family vacation next week! Words can't describe how excited I am to spend an entire week at the beach with my family (and have 5 days off work)! Gulf Shores here we come!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*can't live without*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Quest Protein Bars. Thanks to my baby sis for introducing me to them. These have been my go-to breakfast lately. They have 20g of protein and really do keep you full until lunchtime. So far I've tried Vanilla Almond Crunch, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Banana Nut Muffin. I highly recommend any of them.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*on repeat*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I've been rotating between a few different songs right now.

The Mother We Share by CHVRCHES is probably my fave.

Hey Girl by Billy Currington is also up there.

Any Voice fans out there? I'm kinda loving Wasting All These Tears by Cassadee Pope.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*devouring *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I'm going to come clean. I ate cake this weekend, but only once...errr...twice. Ok fine. Three times. I technically had cake three times if you count the 2 pieces I had at the wedding on Saturday night, but they were just so pretty...and tasty. I couldn't say no. I really couldn't.

Who can say no to confetti cake? I sure can't!
I swear I was doing really good about eating a healthier, clean diet last week, but I sort of fell off the bandwagon on Saturday and Sunday. I'm right back at it today though. Spinach salads and I are buddies once again. Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm.

                            *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thankful for*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Oh gosh. I am seriously thankful for so much right now. I honestly can't think of a time I've been happier in the last few years. I don't want to get all Facebook braggy on you because I cannot take that. Nothing will get you un-friended faster than a post about how great your hubby is because he sent you flowers for no reason at all (can I go off on a tangent here briefly? Hubby has the same amount of syllables as husband. Therefore it isn't shortening anything. Can we all just agree to never EVER use this word again? Ok great.), or how proud you are because your child used the toliet for the first time [picture included]. Barf. For a plethora of other examples, you must see this website. I really really can't take bragging, but I will say my life is full of love and happiness right now, and I'm soaking it all up!

Right Now

How is it already May?!? I swear this year is flying by so fast! Here are some of the things I've been into right now:

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*obsessing over *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My sister's new kitten, appropriately named Benjamin Button. He is so cute...yet so creepy at the same time!

Look at that fat little tummy! Dying!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*working on *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Learning to love gardening and yard work. So far not so good. Saturday I had big plans to pull up the gross plastic edging around my front gardens and replace it with rock, rake leaves, weed, and transplant some things. I'm not kidding, within 2 minutes of being outside my dad spotted a snake, and of course I completely freaked out. I literally sprinted to the sidewalk, and en route almost stepped on the stupid thing. My dad then proceeded to pick up the snake and toss it towards me. So not cool. His punishment? Him and my mom basically had to do all the yard work themselves while I supervised from the front steps because I was way too terrified to step foot in the grass. Also, I was contemplating buying a mower and cutting the grass myself, but after my roommate spotted the stupid snake again this week I've changed my tune. Lawn mowing service hired. Best $30 I could spend, and totally worth it if I can avoid anymore snake encounters this spring/summer.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thinking about*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Re-evaluating my personal life. Seriously. I've got issues. I know I've said over and over I don't want to have a boyfriend right now. I need this time to be single since I jump from one relationship right into the next. The truth? I miss it. I miss the companionship. I miss staying in and cooking dinner, drinking wine, and cuddling on the couch. I miss sharing my day with someone. I miss fun comfortable dates, and not awkward first dates with forced conversations. Being single is exhausting. Does he like me? Does he not? What do you think he meant by that text? I haven't heard from him in three days...what does that mean?!? Do I even like him, or do I just like the attention??? The game playing and over-analyzing is enough to drive a girl insane.

Yes being self-sufficient and independent is great and all, but it's also nice to have a counterpart. I had a breakdown Sunday afternoon when I was trying to put together my new patio furniture. I seriously spent 45 minutes trying to get one screw into the leg of the love seat, and I lost it. I sat there on my deck, crying and feeling sorry for myself. I'm neverrrrr going to meet anyone. I'm going to die alone. Cat lady for life. Was I being overly dramatic? Maybe. Was it because it was that time of the month? Possibly. Either way it was pathetic. I need a man in my life stat.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*excited for *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The weather to warm up and stay warm! We had a sneak peak into summer weather Sunday and Monday, and it was so fantastic. My roomies and I had some people over Sunday afternoon to enjoy the patio furniture (post breakdown), and I anticipate hosting many more get-togethers this summer. Now I just need to buy a grill. On it...

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*can't live without*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My Nebraska Furniture Mart card. 2 years no interest? Done and done. Time to get that grill!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*on repeat*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I can't get enough of Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen thanks to the New Girl episode this week. It is so catchy although the video is slightly creepy...

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*devouring *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I've been trying to be better about my eating habits this week since summer is literally right around the corner (at least I hope so...it is currently snowing. WTF Kansas?!?). So far so good. However I feel like this weekend is going to put my self control to the test with Cinqo de Mayo celebrations. You know how I feel about Mexican food and margaritas!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*thankful for*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

A weekend without any plans! No Bachelorette parties. No weddings. No family obligations. Just a nice relaxing weekend at home thank goodness!
